White Locket is the second locket found of the Original Mermaids.
History[]
The white locket first appears in the episode "Shipwrecked". Emma meets Miss Chatham at the pier where she is having an argument with Zane. The older woman has a heart attack when she hears she's being evicted from her home on the pier. As she is taken away by paramedics, she tells Emma to protect her 'treasure'. Zane overhears this and goes searching in the Lorelei wreck. He finds the locket, but does not recognize its significance and throws it down. Emma, on the other hand, recognizes the locket, and takes it back to Miss Chatham, who is very grateful for its return. She then tells Emma and Cleo about her friends, Julia and Gracie.
Emma's locket originally belonged to Louise Chatham who was a mermaid over 50 years ago. Louise's locket has a white stone - possibly a diamond. This could symbolize the power to freeze water. Louise is the only former mermaid still alive, as both her friends Julia and Gracie have died. The locket was made by Max Hamilton, Gracie's then-boyfriend.
In the episode "In Too Deep" Louise gives her locket to Emma, claiming that it feels right for all three lockets to be together.
In the episode "The Jewel Thief" Cleo takes off the locket in favor of the crystal necklace.
Trivia[]
- In one of the episodes Charlotte wears the white locket during several scenes, possibly by mistake in the filming of the series.
- For some reason Cleo is wearing the white locket in Season 3.
- After season 2, it’s possible Cleo and Emma traded lockets before Emma left to travel the world, since Cleo wears the white locket during season 3. This would mean the blue locket is currently in Emma’s possession.
