The Unnamed Land Boy was the lover of an ancient Eastern mermaid.
Biography[]
He was born into a human family, and met and fell in love with the Chinese Mermaid. But their relationship was discovered by another pod. Wishing to punish the mermaid and her entire pod for letting it happen, the other pod changed him into a Water Dragon whose only wish was to destroy the mermaids. His loved one found or created a magic bracelet and she used it to change him back into a human.
Water Dragon Powers[]
After being cursed by another pod as a punishment for falling in love with his mermaid lover, the boy was turned into a fearsome and devastating Water Dragon. His mermaid lover created or found a special bracelet, and used it to revert him back to his old human self.
- Fire-breathing: As a water Dragon, he was capable of breathing cold, blue flames from his jaws[1], which had dangerous unmetamorphosing effects on a merperson once burned.[2]
- Lunar hibernation cycle: He fell into a hibernation cycle between each Full Moon, thus only awakened when the Full Moon rises, only to fall back into their hibernation cycle once more once the Full Moon sets.[3] He could also be briefly summoned by a Moon Ring's moonlight before falling back to his sleep.[4]
- Enhanced Durability: A water dragon is capable of surviving more physical trauma to their body, that would otherwise be fatal, including their own cold fire. However, it does not protect them from a powerful enough phenomena, like a powerful lightning strike empowered by the full magic of Mako Island. The Dragon is also immune to the powers of Moon Rings.
- Speed-Swimming: The Dragon can swim at high speeds, similar to a merperson's Speed-Swimming, giving it the velocity needed to chase a merperson.
- Amphibian: A water dragon's respiratory system can extract oxygen from both water and air, allowing them to breathe freely both underwater and on land.
Weaknesses[]
Under the powerful curse, he had all the weaknesses of a Water Dragon. When his mermaid lover broke the spell with the Jiao Long Bracelet, he had regained all the typical weaknesses of a human being until his death.
