Cleo: Yes! It turns out dad and Kim are staying with my aunt tonight, so it works out well

Nate: I think maybe I should sing some harmony
Bella: Yeah
Cleo walks up
Cleo: Um, Bella, are you fine for tonight?
Nate: Um, we’re actually rehearsing tonight

Will: No thanks. I just wanna get home to rest. I couldn’t sleep last night. I kept thinking about Mako
Bella: I thought you were over that
Will: It still seems so real
Bella: Look, we’ve been through this. You hit your head and you imagined it all. You really have to get over it.

Bella: Look, if you can’t sleep, why don’t you give me a call? I’d be happy to talk
Will: In the middle of the night?
Bella: Yeah, any time. I’m staying at Cleo’s tonight, so we’ll probably be talking half the night anyway

Rikki: No, we still have to be careful

Sophie: What’s that got to do with the full moon?

Sophie: You okay?
Will: Sorry sis, I was thinking about that cave on Mako
Sophie: You’re still going on about that?
Will: Something did happen to me out there. That whole place came alive
Sophie: We’ve been through this
Will: But now I remember my torch. This waterfall seemed to swallow it up
Sophie: You need to focus on your training, and being the best free diver you can be. That’s our goal, right?
Will: I guess so. It just felt so real
Sophie: It wasn’t, so get over it. I’m going to cook up some pasta, I hope you’re hungry

Sophie: You know, you can always come and lend a hand if you want

Cleo: As long as we plug all the main entry points we should be prepared, but just in case, I’ve turned off the mains

Rikki: And just because it’s a full moon, doesn’t mean the tentacle is coming after us, does it?

Lewis: Yeah, which means I’m going to get first-hand knowledge of how this sucker works, then I’m going to nail its watery butt

Will: Well it was a full moon that night too. When I woke up in the cave I couldn’t find my torch anywhere. Well now I know. I think it got sucked into the waterfall that appeared

Will: Believe that? I know. But that torch was still missing the next day. I couldn’t find it anywhere. So maybe it is real, so maybe that place did go crazy
Bella: Will, I think you need to let this go
Will: No. I’m going back out there again tonight to see if it does the same thing again

Bella: Um, where do I start? Out there, on your own, at night

Will: I don’t get this! You say you’re there for me, but when I ask for some support, you start looking at me like I’m crazy! Just like everyone else

She turns
Cut to Will, who pauses as he leaves

Cleo: Are you sure she didn’t say she was going to get some pizza? I mean, she’s got a big appetite for a little girl
Will: She couldn’t have gotten away that quickly, I would have seen her
Cleo: You’d be surprised. I mean, my sister’s got 1000 ways of escaping when there’s work to be done
Will typing on his phone
Will: Let’s try her mobile
Bella’s phone rings on the coffee table
Cleo laughs
Cleo: She left it behind
Will: And her bag, too? Why aren’t you taking this seriously?
Rikki: Because we know her better than you, she’s always doing this!
Will: Really?
Lewis: Absolutely. Now Will, don’t let us take up any more of your night, I’m sure she’ll give you a call a little later on, and you guys can laugh about it then
Will: Get her to give me a call as soon as she gets back. If I don’t answer, I’ll be at Mako Island
Rikki: Mako?
Cleo: Uh, absolutely
Lewis: Bye, see ya
She and Lewis shove Will out of the door
Cleo: It’s taken her
Rikki: We have to get out there
Lewis: No way, it’s too dangerous. I’ll go
Cleo: No, it’ll only take us a few minutes. You try and stop Will
Lewis: Uh, Cleo. Be careful
He leaves
Rikki: Ready for this?
Cleo: Never. You think it’s waiting for us?

Bella panicking
Water from the tentacle starts to eclipse her
Cleo and Rikki rushing towards
They surface
Rikki: What’s it doing to her?
Cleo: It looks like it’s turning her into water
Rikki: Bella! Bella!
She goes to use her power
Cleo: No! We don’t know where Bella ends and the tentacle starts
Bella starts to sink and Cleo immediately goes back on her words and uses her power
Bella starts to rise back up
Rikki: Hold her there, don’t let it take her

Lewis knocks on Will’s door and runs in
Lewis: Oh, hey, Will. Hey, uh, the girls have gone after Bella, so there is no need to worry
Will: You came all the way here to tell me that?
Lewis: Yep. So, uh, you’re still heading out to Mako aren’t you?
Will: Yeah, there’s something I really need to check out
Lewis: What, it can’t wait? I mean, it’s getting dark
Will: I’m all fired up. Wouldn’t be able to sleep even if I wanted to. Tell Bella I’ve already gone when she gets back
Lewis: Why don’t you tell her yourself? I mean, girls hate getting things second-hand
Will looks at him disdainfully

Rikki: Keep holding her!
Cleo: What is that thing doing to her?
Rikki: I don’t know, but if she completely becomes water, does she disappear?

They catch her and drag her to the edge of the water

Bella: One minute I was scared and fighting it, and then it brought me here and that passed. I felt safe, like I was at home

Rikki: Yeah, like a spider mesmerising its prey

Bella: It didn’t hurt
Rikki: Well, if you want to go back in there, be my guest, but I’m out of here
Bella: Guys look
They turn to the cave wall, which is shining with light
Will is in the antechamber
Lewis slides down into the cave
Lewis: Oi, oi! It came from up there
Cleo: We’ve got to swim
Lewis: Hey, oh, wait, be careful up there
Will: I heard you the first time
Lewis: Yeah, I just, I just wanted to make sure
Will: You’re weird
Lewis: I know. I am seeing someone, but there’s no cure
Water is still sloshing when the boys walk in
Lewis: See, nothing unusual. Looks like you wasted our time
He quickly goes to the wall and takes off his camera

Will: There it is!
Lewis: What?
Will: That’s my torch

Will: It’s embedded in solid rock! That means this wall turns into a waterfall just as I thought
Lewis: No! Or maybe when you dropped it, it just, it sort of fell into that little hole?
Will: And it’s still running, a month after I left it here? What are the chances of that?
Lewis: Batteries can last a long time
Will: No. This place is alive. And now I can prove it

Rikki: What can he do?

Cleo: Lucky Lewis was there. If he hadn’t slowed Will down, he would have seen a lot more. (To Lewis) Hey you ready?
Lewis has been hooking up his camera to the TV
Lewis: Yeah, almost
Rikki: Does anyone want some popcorn?
Lewis: Um, Rikki you could take this just a little bit more seriously
Rikki: I like popcorn at the movies!
Lewis: Yeah, well I hope this video doesn’t freak you out too much
Rikki: Just get on with it
Lewis: Okay. At last we’re going to have an independent record of what’s happened

Will throws the rock with the torch onto the table
Will: I found this inside that cave
Rikki: Fancy that
Bella: Now you don’t have to buy a new one
Will: This means that what happened to me was real. That place is alive
Rikki: Alive? You keep saying that, it’s embarrassing
Will: Then how do you explain that?
Rikki: I’m not even going to bother trying
Will points to Lewis
Will: You saw where I found it. Tell them
Lewis: Well, Will, it, um, no, no, Will, I-
Will: The full moon turns that place into something weird
Bella: You really have to give this up
Will: Not now, I’m not crazy. Something weird’s happening in Mako, and I’m not going to give up until I find out why

The girls look at each other with doom and gloom in their eyes
