Maya is a Southern mermaid from the Mako Pod. Maya and Aquata are best and closest friends, since they are seen often traveling together. She was the one compelled to report that a boy had fallen into the Moon Pool under Lyla, Sirena, and Nixie's watch during the Full Moon, which had resulted the pod exiling them from their rightful home, and forcing the rest of the mermaids to move to the Pacific Ocean.
Personality[]
Maya has appeared only in one episode, therefore relatively little is known about her personality. Although, when she was in the discussion about the girls' banishment, she had a strict attitude. Judging by her personality, she must try to follow in the steps of the mermaid council leader Veridia, strict but cares about her peers.
Physical appearance[]
Maya is an adult mermaid with black hair (with some seashells in it), brown eyes and dark-tanned skin. She has an orange-scaled tail with an orange-scaled top.
Mermaid Powers[]
As a mermaid, Maya has the ability to swim at a super speed, and dive at depths no human being is capable of, completely protected from its cold and water pressure. She is also capable of holding her breath for at least fifteen minutes. Maya didn't displayed her powers, but like all mermaids native from the sea, she has all the regular and weather powers. Just like her best-friend Aquata, she owns a Moon Ring.
Weaknesses[]
Maya has all the typical weaknesses of a Southern mermaid. However, she was still susceptible to Mako's Moon Pool's well-being, meaning if it is destroyed or deprived of its powerful, magical Moon Water, she would perish and die with it.
