Evie Times Two is the twenty-second episode of Season 1 of Mako: Island of Secrets.
Synopsis[]
When Rita's cat, Poseidon, steps through a puddle of mermaid powders, he is transformed into a duplicate of Evie. Zac reluctantly works with Lyla, Nixie and Sirena to keep the two Evie's apart until they can change Poseidon back into a cat.
Plot[]
As Rita leaves for a school board meeting, the girls, Nixie, Lyla, and Sirena snoop through Rita's box of portions. When David delivers a seafood order to Rita's house, Evie, still suspicious of the girls, tags along hoping to find out more about them. Before David arrives, the girls find squid ink from the Mariana trench, a rare substance. Seconds after, they go pick up David's order, leaving the squid ink on the table. Meanwhile, Rita's cat, Poseidon, accidentally spills the potion onto another substance and becomes magically enchanted after stepping through that puddle of spilled potion. After encountering Evie, who was snooping around the house, Poseidon transforms into an exact duplicate of Evie but retains the mind and instinct of a cat. David mistakes feline Evie for the real Evie and takes her back to the cafe. Later, feline Evie goes to the beach with Carly where Cam notices her odd behavior and calls Zac for help. While searching for Poseidon, the girls run into Zac and "Evie" at the beach and eventually realize what has happened. Lyla helps Zac keep the real Evie and Poseidon apart while Nixie and Sirena work on a way to restore Poseidon to cat form. In an attempt to put the Neutralizing Potion on feline Evie to transform her back to Poseidon, Nixie and Sirena accidentally splashed the liquid on the real Evie. They then had to collect what they've spread on her in order to use the remaining liquid on feline Evie. After successfully restoring feline Evie into Poseidon, real Evie is even more suspicious of the girls and determined to find out more about them.
Trivia[]
- This is the third episode where Evie develops a seafood craving, the first was in the Season 1 episode "Moon Spell" and the second was in the Season 2 episode "Fish Fever" with Emma.
- Feline Evie drinks milk in two places: at the Café with a plate and at the beach with her bare hands.
