Aquata Returns is the twenty-first episode of Season 1 of Mako: Island of Secrets.
Synopsis[]
Aquata returns and tells Sirena that she may return to the pod, but Lyla and Nixie cannot. The mermaids now have possession of the trident and hide it. After seeing Aquata, Zac believes the mermaids are calling reinforcements.

- This is the last appearance of Aquata, although she would continue to be mentioned throughout the series.
- This is the first episode where Lyla and Nixie get emotional, they actually have scenes crying.
- Mako Island has a secret cave where stuff can be placed in order to be hidden.
- Despite given the opportunity to return with Aquata to the South Pacific, Sirena gives this up in order to not leave Lyla and Nixie alone.
