Eva was an Irish mermaid in early 1700s. Described as a human girl by the Irish people in an old tale, she created the original Tower of Light when the comet was first heading towards Earth. As the people fled, they saw her walk toward the cliff minutes before and she was never seen afterwards. This sacrifice lead to Bella believing Eva was a mermaid, and that she should face the comet alone but Rikki and Cleo disagreed. They theorized that Eva may have survived the Tower of Light creation.

Physical appearance[]

Eva's physical appearance is unknown. As a mermaid, her hair had to be let down and she had an orange-scaled tail with an orange-scaled top.

Mermaid Powers[]

Eva possessed the ability to transform into a mermaid ten seconds after touching water. She turned back into a human several minutes after climbing out of the the water and once her body was completely dry, she turned back into a human along with the clothes she was wearing before she transformed.

As a mermaid, Eva had the ability to swim at a super speed, and dive at depths no human being is capable of, completely protected from its cold and water pressure. She was also capable of holding her breath for at least fifteen minutes.

Weaknesses[]

Regardless of her true origins, Eva was still linked to the Irish Moon Pool's continued well-being and existence, which consequentially meant that if the Moon Pool was ever to suffer a permanent fatal physical damage, including the dangerous defect of its Moon Water, she, like all her fellow merpeople, would perish and die along with it if the destruction of her source of metamorphosis was not resolved in time.

Etymology[]

  • Eva is a Cornish verb that means "to drink". In Piedmontese, its etymology comes from the Latin "aqua", which means "water".

Trivia[]

  • Eva is believed to be a mermaid by the Main characters, but it is never confirmed on screen.
  • If Eva was truly a mermaid, regardless of her true origins, then it was unknown where she underwent her metamorphosis, or what pod she belonged to.
