Enhanced Breath is the ability that all merpeople have to hold their breath for at least fifteen minutes without any discomfort before needing to resurface. Enhanced Breath also allows them to dive at depths no human being could withstand without any difficulty or discomfort, even if equipped with expensive dive gear.
Merpeople are actually amphibious and do not actually need to hold their breath underwater; however, human-turned merpeople often do not know this and keep holding their breath underwater out of habit.
