Comet

The Comet Eva was named after a Irish mermaid named Eva in early 1700s, after it was believed that she saved the Irish people from the comet that was about to hit Earth.[1]

The comet is somehow connected to Mako Island and the Sea Caves of Ireland, as they are attracted to one another by magnetism created by the rock they both share.

History[]

The comet's origins were unknown, although it was known that the comet returned to the Solar System at every one-hundred and fifty years.[2]

In early 1700s, a young Irish girl (believed to be a mermaid) named Eva used her abilities to save those around her from a comet that was later named after her. Once the comet's eventual impact has been repelled, she disappeared, and her fate remained unknown.[1]

The comet returned in the mid-1850s, however, it was repelled once again.[2]

On February 7, 2008, the comet re-entered into the Solar System.[2] This triggered the manifestation of the water tentacle to warn nearby merpeople of the impending danger.[3] Cleo Sertori, Rikki Chadwick and Isabella Hartley in Australia researched its history and found that the Tower of Light created by mermaids could redirect the comet's trajectory and save the Earth.[1]

After Mako Island's moon pool was destroyed by Sophie Benjamin, Ryan Tate, and Zane Bennett on October 14, 2008, Cleo, Rikki, and Bella combined their magic to recreate the Tower of Light manually, and successfully redirected the comet away from Earth.

Trivia[]

  • The text in the article about Comet Eva[4] comes from a real article about the Arend-Roland comet.[5]
    • Although Eva's Comet was discovered an few centuries earlier than the comet it was based off of.
  • It is known that this comet visits Earth every 150 years.[2] Since Evа is just over 300 years away from Cleo, Rikki and Bella, this means that there must have been another merperson (or a whole pod) who also created the Tower of Light. It is also very doubtful that Eva was the one who created the Tower and was the first to learn about the comet. Most likely, this was only the first documented case, so these phenomena are associated with her.
