Cleo Massey (born 19 November 1993 in Launceston, Tasmania) is an Australian actress. She is most famous for playing Kim Sertori in the television series H2O: Just Add Water. Coincidentally, she shares the same first name with her character's older sister, Cleo Sertori.
Family[]
Her mother is Anna Waters-Massey (the two of them acted together in Humidity Rising), and her brother is Australian child actor Joey Massey (who also briefly appeared in two H2O episodes "Surprise!" and "In Hot Water" as Ollie)[1]. Cleo also has one close friend, Nicole, that she counts to be 'part of the family'. In December 2021, Massey married Luke Dempsey-Ceh, her partner of 10 years[1]. Cleo & Luke welcomed their first child into the world a daughter named Indigo Valerie Dempsey on March 24, 2024.
Biography[]
When growing up, Massey felt that acting was her passion and destiny. She landed the role on H2O: Just Add Water at age 11. She made friends with the older actors on set, and has described looking up to them. Phoebe Tonkin in particular helped her with her lines[2]. However, after the show wrapped up, she struggled to find more roles, and soon realised acting was not the career for her. From there, she was inspired to try new things[3].
In 2015, Massey started a blog called Pass Around the Smile[4]. From there, the blog became a company and, most recently in 2023, a podcast. The company aims to spread positivity, and Massey talks often about subjects surrounding manifestation, meditation, self development and mindfulness. The law of attraction is particularly important to her.
