Amaris is a Southern hatchling appearing in Season 3 of Mako: Island of Secrets.
There is not much known about her, but she is shown to be the fastest learner in the group. Her three friends are: Naia, Ava and Jewel. They are not part of the Mako Pod because they are not initiated yet.
Mermaid Powers[]
As a mermaid, Amaris has the ability to swim at a super speed, and dive at depths no human being is capable of, completely protected from its cold and water pressure. She is also capable of holding her breath for at least fifteen minutes.
She hasn't developed all of her mermaid powers yet and still goes to the Mermaid School to learn how to master all of her powers.
Weaknesses[]
Amaris has all the typical weaknesses of a Southern mermaid. However, she is still susceptible to Mako's Moon Pool's well-being, meaning if it is destroyed or deprived of its powerful, magical Moon Water, she would perish and die with it.

Name[]
- Amaris is a variant of a Catalan word of Latin origin that can mean "to soak" or "to land an aircraft on water". Is it similar to the Aromanian word amari, of the same Latin origin, meaning "sea".
Trivia[]
- She had legs like the the rest of her friends in the episode "Lost and Found."
- It is very likely that Amaris had mastered the Moon Spell Control, although off-screen.
- Like the rest of the mermaids, she seems to have a fear of humans, as she was running from both Chris and Karl.
- Amaris is the oldest of her friends.
