Aerokinesis is the elemental power to summon and control the various aspects of the element of Air.

Overview

Aerokinesis is the elemental ability to summon and create the wind in a variety of ways, ranging from blasts of wind to dangerous whirlwinds. The winds created can be strong enough to levitate beings or objects in mid-air, and throw a person far away. It can also be used to manipulate wind movement, capable of moving an object or close a door. The exact usage of this power may vary and is seemingly dependent upon the knowledge and skill of the user. It is the amplified version of Hydrokinesis that human-turned merpeople receives in the Moon Pool during a planetary alignment known as the Elemental Moon.

It is also connected to Atmokinesis, allowing users to create a storm and control wind, rain, thunder and lightning. The Storm Spell can be casted by a mermaid through a Moon Ring to simulate one of the aspects of Aerokinesis, which can also be summoned by a Moon Ring. It can be guessed that Aerokinesis can be amplified to Atmokinesis.

History

In "Stormy Weather", Cleo looks at the Full Moon and swims to Mako Island with the girls and was in the Moon Pool during the special planetary alignment which amplified her original power to Aerokinesis. Under the effects of the Moon Spell, together they create a powerful electric storm and blow Lewis away. The next day, Cleo are surprised when she discover her new powers. When Cleo used Hydrokinesis on her sister's orange juice, she accidentally used Aerokinesis to cause a gust of wind.

In "Control", when Lewis he decides to test the girls' new and unpredictable powers, Cleo was unable to control her new power, and accidentally knocks Lewis into the Moon Pool.

In "Unfathomable", Charlotte used her power of Aerokinesis to float Cleo, Emma and Rikki into the air until Ash comes out, reluctantly forcing her to drop them.

Related Powers

Combined Atmokinesis

This is a supremely powerful combined ability that only Cleo Sertori, Emma Gilbert and Rikki Chadwick have shown to possess. When three mermaids combine their powers of air and wind, ice and snow, and lighting and electricity grants them complete control over the weather and its various elemental aspects. This is first seen in "Stormy Weather". They have shown the capability to create even stronger thunderstorms, and electrical storms and have greater control over them.
